National privat pilot licenses allow of course flying ULs, a relevant national UL-pilot license is the minimum requirement....
UL-flying is focussed on operating light airplanes in VMC-conditions and especially on the easy-going operation* around the proven advantages of the UL-segment and its enjoying environment. The following summery describes the most relevant highlights:
*Nevertheless a permanent theoretical & practical pilot training as well as good preparation should be an important requirement for safe flying!
Due to timesaving short mandatory inspections there will be more time for flying than having the airplane on the ground :-)
Beside significant cost advantages of using car-fuel against avgas UL-pilots are further more independent in respect of operating hours of airport services!
As an example we list here a typical landing fee (Graz) like you would find it at similar airports : EUR 26
Even less it will be of course on other non coordinated airfields
Mandatory yearly inspections can be performed by Brightline
100h inspections are e.g. offered from brightline-partners (ask for price..)
For a base price of around EUR 100.000 you will own the fantastic and fastest side by side UL - airplane.
A comparable (slower) C-150 would afford wide more than the double !
type of fuel
Against expensive avgas the vl3 will comes along with less expensive car-fuel....
You can of course select and use any airport for your flights, more common will be small airfields in the counties or other privat landing areas approved by the authority.
Compared with other single engine aircraft a parachute provides additional and uncomparable safety
flying the vl3 - evolution!
Depending on custumized insurance packagees, owners will chose, clients can expect yearly insurance costs in the range of EUR 3.500-5.000 (y) (..ask for price)
